Mark Medici is a 3rd generation Media Executive. Fred Stickel, Mark’s Grandfather, was the Publisher of the Oregonian from 1967-2008. After serving in WWII Fred worked for his Uncle at the Jersey Observer prior to the Observer being acquired by SI Newhouse/Advanced Publications in 1945 who Fred worked for until the age of 88.
Mark is a strategic business intelligence, portfolio, delivery systems, content strategy and consumer sales leader across print and digital platforms. Mark is an experienced operator with a track record of operational, revenue and audience growth wins including industry leading digital audience and consumer revenue initiatives at Cox Media Group and A.H. Belo resulting in 8-consecutive years of consumer revenue (2007-present) and dynamic year over year audience growth across CMG’s free and paid digital products/brands.
Most recently Mark led and implemented CMG Newspapers premium digital and free digital strategies in Atlanta, Austin, Dayton and West Palm Beach. CMG Newspapers two site strategy pair our responsive platform, best in class curation design, third party social and aggregation software with CMG Newspapers award winning journalism to produce solutions for our core audiences print, paid digital and free digital audiences and clients.
Mark Previously led the business and development teams at the Dallas Morning News, launching the Dallas Morning News’ pricing and digital subscriber content initiatives resulting in TDMN becoming among the top grossing consumer revenue newspapers and only a handful (at the time) of Publishers in the United States to allow it’s print and digital subscribers unfettered access across all print, interactive and digital platforms. The Dallas Morning News was the first local metropolitan newspaper to limit access to content across interactive and native applications.
At Cox Media Group Mark has P&L responsibility for $154mm B2C revenue and $46mm in B2B revenue. Mark manages AJC.com (one of the largest local media brands in the country regardless of platform) 9 VP/Sr. Director’s with a secondary sales, development, marketing, content and analytics staff of 150+ employees.
