Michael Gruzuk is the executive producer of CBC News specials and programs, responsible for the coverage and planning of all domestic and international event-based network news programming for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Prior to this role, Michael was the senior program producer of The National, the CBC’s nightly flagship news and current affairs broadcast. Michael began his career at CBC News with the investigative program Marketplace, where he was the senior producer and a documentary field producer for eight years. Prior to joining CBC, Michael worked in private production at Vancouver’s Great North Productions, producing international programming for The Discovery Channel.
Michael is the winner of two Gemini Awards for Best Direction, a Canadian Screen Award, and most recently, a Golden Nymph Award from the Monte Carlo Television Festival, alongside CBC’s breaking news team covering the 2014 Ottawa shootings.
Michael is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
