Michael Koetter oversees Turner’s Architecture, Technology and Operations for Media. ATOM is responsible for providing technical strategy, architecture, implementation, support and operations for media supply chain systems across the breadth of Turner’s US and International businesses – and for digital journalism systems at CNN.
Michael maintains joint leadership of ATOM with his co-SVP, Ken Brady. Connecting content suppliers to Turner’s various distribution divisions while providing necessary processing and packaging, ATOM’s integrated media technology platform powers Turner’s growth across both traditional and emerging digital platforms.
At CNN, Michael played a key role in the transition to file based high definition workflows. Working with suppliers and trade associations, Michael led the creation of a best in class fully integrated global content environment. Today, Michael and his team are implementing next generation editorial systems to power the information flow, collaboration and core multi-platform production capabilities required to push CNN’s digital journalism capabilities into the future.
Michael and his team have been recognized for contributions to Turner and to the media industry through Broadcasting and Cable’s Technology Leadership Award, Broadcast Engineering’s Engineering Excellence Award and the IBC Innovation Award.
A graduate of Appalachian State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, Michael holds a BS in Anthropology and an MS in Information Design and Technology.
